During these turbulent times, ASAP is continuing to work on behalf of asylum seekers and helping other organizations and legal providers do the same.
Since 2015, the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP) has provided legal assistance to thousands of asylum seekers in over 40 states and 5 countries. We’ve built our model around the goal of reaching asylum seekers in isolated areas who have little access to traditional legal aid. Our staff now works remotely across 7 states.
It is with this experience in mind that we’ve decided to share our best practices for providing legal aid at a distance and working remotely. We hope that our tips will be useful to other organizations and advocates, especially those seeking to provide remote legal services in light of the COVID-19 crisis.
Check out this new resource and share it with friends and family, whether they are newly working from home or concerned about how this crisis is impacting those in need of legal aid.
