Arlenis has been at Make the Road NY for 18 years, MRNY is the largest immigrant-led community based organization in NY with over 24,000 members. She started at Make the Road New York as a part-time receptionist in the Bushwick, Brooklyn office, after her mother, a founding member, introduced her to the organization. Soaking up every opportunity to learn and through MRNY’s leadership development pipeline, she worked her way up to become Director of Operations, and then Chief of Staff, where she oversaw the expansion of MRNY’s Admin and HR departments, the overhaul of the organization’s database infrastructure, and the development and execution of the organization’s current strategic plan.
