Liliana Ornelas

ASAP Board President Liliana Ornelas is the Director of School Engagement at Project Lead the Way (PLTW), working alongside the One8 Foundation in MA to expand STEM pathways in schools in the Commonwealth. Before she joined PLTW, she was the Manager of Programs and Curriculum at American Student Assistance (ASA) in Boston, MA, where she managed the portfolio of philanthropic grants for career exploration to K-12 public schools in MA. She has also worked at the New York City Department of Education on the College Access for All, Middle School initiative, a mayor’s equity and excellence initiative, that aims to help prepare middle school students to be college ready.

Prior to her work at the NYCDOE, Liliana worked as the Associate Dean of Admission for Multicultural Recruitment at Stonehill College, and has also worked in undergraduate admissions at Brown University. In addition, she has also taught and served as the Director of High School Placement at Excel Academy Charter School in East Boston.

Liliana is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, and is originally from Los Angeles, CA. She earned her BA in Ethnic Studies from Brown University, and Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
