George Lama is the IT Director at the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP). George has been in IT leadership positions at social service organizations for the past 15 years, developing, coordinating, and implementing a variety of operational and strategic initiatives around IT operations, systems, infrastructure and cybersecurity.
Previously, George has also worked as a technical trainer traveling all over the United States and various other countries, as an instructional designer and content developer, and as a special education teacher with a focus on instructional technology.
George was born in New York but grew up in the Dominican Republic, and is the son of Palestinian and Dominican immigrants. He is fluent in English and Spanish. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, playing various musical instruments, amateur radio operations, electronics, and woodworking.
