Best Practices for Providing Legal Aid and Working Remotely

March 20, 2020

This document shares some of the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP)’s internal best practices for working with clients and building community at a distance. Since 2015, ASAP has provided remote legal assistance to thousands of asylum seekers in over 40 states and 5 countries. Our staff now work remotely across 7 states. We hope that our experiences will be useful to other organizations and advocates who are now seeking to provide remote legal services in light of the COVID-19 crisis.
